What to Bring to Your First Meeting with Us
If you have recently lost a loved one, you have probably already been inundated with planning a Funeral or Memorial Service and trying to deal with grieving the loss of your loved one. The last thing you want is to have to begin a legal process which you may feel unprepared or unable to do.
We are here to help you every step of the way, and handle any task for you. We know this is a difficult time in your life as you have lost your loved one. We aim to compassionately assist our clients and “hold your hand” through the legal process which often seems tedious or overwhelming.
For your first meeting with us, please bring along:
Names and addresses of your family members who are beneficiaries in the will (or trust, if any)
Asset information such as a copy of bank statements, vehicle titles, life insurance policy information, investment portfolios, bonds, Deed to real estate, etc.
Original Death Certificates (usually the Funeral Home will get these for you
Original will (this will need to be filed with the County)
Original Trust (if any)
Anything relevant you find in a Safety Deposit Box
Any information about decedent’s existing debts, liens, loans, mortgages, unpaid funeral expenses, credit cards, unpaid taxes, medical bills, etc.
Checkbook or credit card for a retainer check to our firm
