Congress members face an agenda that includes abortion and assisted suicide.

The
Congress, which reconvened Jan. 24 after a winter recess, will consider
final passage of a bill that would ban partial-birth abortion, but it is
unlikely to override an expected veto from President Clinton. Also, the
Senate is considering a bill, passed by the House, that would give a fetus
rights that are distinct from those of its mother when harmed in
a
physical attack, news reports said.
...The
Senate will discuss a bill to effectively overturn
Oregon's
first-in-the-nation law allowing physician-assisted
suicide.
The Clinton administration has said it may veto the
bill,
which has been passed by the House.
